The Lorne Hotel in Victoria, Australia, is up for sale. The hotel has been listed for $20 million, with agents reporting strong interest from both local and overseas buyers.
Mathew George, VP of Jones Lang Lasalle, said it was a rare example of a regional hotel being placed on the market.
Agent Scott Callow of CBRE Hotels, who is handling the Lorne Hotel sale with Cropley Commercial, said it was considered a "trophy asset" in the area. In September, the Woolworths-backed hotels venture ALH Group sold 54 pubs to Charter Hall Group for $600 million. It was one of the largest sales in the pub sector.
