Phuket's Kata Group eyes Southeast Asia

With an eye firmly planted on the growing tourism industry across Southeast Asia, Kata Group Resorts is looking to open new properties across the region, particularly in emerging destinations like Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam.

The Phuket-based group announced on July 20 a three-year plan that would see it open at least three new properties in Thailand's Andaman coast. The group will start construction of a new hotel in Phuket in September. The group has hotels in Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi and Khao Lak.
