Radisson Collection opens in Georgia's wine country

Further demonstrating the increasing appeal of the CEE nations for hotel development, the Radisson Collection soft brand has opened a new property in Georgia.

The 141-room Radisson Collection Hotel, Tsinandali Estate Georgia is in the country’s Kakheti wine district. With a focus on wine culture, the property has a vineyard and its own historical winery, a vinotheque, a wine-tasting bar and Prince Alexander Chavchavadze’s personal wine cellar collection. The hotel also has three restaurants and three bars.

Additional features include a spa on the top floor, an outside swimming pool, indoor and open-air ballrooms and a neighboring 18-hectare park. The project was developed by Tbilisi,Georgia-based Silk Road Group with financial support of Partnership Fund. A wellness floor has a fitness room, sauna, Jacuzzi, a spa-service area and an outdoor infinity pool. The hotel also has more than 2,350 square meters of event space.

Architects John Fotiadis, Christina Gabas and Damien Figueras handled the property's exteriors while industrial designer Ingo Maurer and Georgian artist and sculptor Tamara Kvesitadz oversaw the interior design. The open amphitheater was designed by Xavier Fabre. The space, with a retractable roof, can accommodate up to 1,200 persons.

“Georgia is recognized as one of the most beautiful countries in the world, [and is] known to be the birthplace of wine,” said Michel Stalport, Radisson area SVP for Russia and Eastern Europe.

The hotel will be operated by Radisson Hospitality AB under an international management agreement.
