Steigenberger Hotels to debut in UAE

German operator Steigenberger Hotels is set to make its UAE debut with a five-star Steigenberger-managed hotel in Dubai’s Business Bay neighbourhood in October this year.

The group has already signed an InterCity hotel in Dubai’s Culture Village, due to open in 2016, as well as hotels in Doha and Cairo.

The deal was made possible by a contractual partnership with Twenty14 Holdings, the hospitality arm of LuLu Group International. Steigenberger will operate the hotel under a management agreement.

When complete, the 365-room hotel will overlook the Burj Khalifa, and will have five F&B outlets. Other facilities will include a banqueting and conference area and a spa and fitness center.

“Having recently announced hotel openings in Istanbul, Munich, Cairo, and Mallorca, the opening of the new hotel at Business Bay re-affirms our commitment to international growth and the Middle East in particular," Steigenberger Hotels CEO Puneet Chhatwal said in a statement. "The hotel in Dubai is symbolic of our growing international presence at strategically important locations.”
