UK's boutique hotel market hot with South Yorkshire sale

A London-based hospitality group has purchased a 52-bedroom hotel in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, for an undisclosed sum that was reported to be at least seven figures.

Specialist property adviser Christie and Co. sold the Welcome Inn hotel, on Wortley Road in Kimberworth, to Morar Hospitality Ltd. on behalf of Administrative Receivers.

Christie and Co’s Head of Leisure and Development, Jon Patrick, said that there had been significant interest in the purpose-built property — which opened in 2004 — and “several offers” above the property’s £800,000 guide price.
