Rebel Walls has launched the new La Chinoiserie wallpaper collection.
Chinoiserie (pronounced “Shen-wah-seh-ree”) comes from the French word chinois, meaning “Chinese,” or “after the Chinese taste” and was created in Europe during the rise of the trade with Asia in the 17th and 18th century, when European artists were inspired by the mythical and glamorous Asian influences.
Rebel Walls collaborated with U.K.-based artist Diane Hill for two of the designs. Hill studied with master painters in China and specializes in hand-drawn chinoiserie wallcoverings and bespoke murals.
The collection consists of five designs with four shades in pearl gray, powder beige, jade green and blue. Rebel Walls offers a flexible sizing solution that makes this collection suitable for any space.
