Radisson Blu planned for Ugandan capital

Carlson Rezidor has announced plans for a 195-room Radisson Blue in Kampala, Uganda. The hotel is slated to open in the fourth quarter of 2016. The development was announced at the African Hotel Investment Forum in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

“We are delighted to arrive in Uganda. Tourism is one of the country’s fastest developing sectors, and Uganda is also becoming an important market for foreign investment due to its rich oil reserves,” said Wolfgang M. Neumann, president  and CEO of Rezidor.

Park Hospitality Limited, the holding company of the hotel, is partnering with Carlson Rezidor on the project.

“We aim to launch an upper-upscale lifestyle hotel which brings world class facilities to the country. Park Hospitality is committed to this project and looking forward to exploring other opportunities for the brand within East Africa,” said Bob Kabonero, chairman of Park Hospitality Limited.
