Gild Hall, a Thompson Hotel, completed a redesign of its guestrooms and suites, unveiling a new environment with custom-designed furnishings. The property is located in the Financial District in New York.
Designed by Bill Rooney Studio, a New York-based interior design firm, the 130 hotel guestrooms and suites now have a mix of neutrals, browns and taupe accents, and a dark-stained trim is found in the spaces. Gray tones accompany a geometric patterned accent wall adjacent to the bed’s leather headboard and camel accent colors at the wainscoting, while flannel drapery help provide scale to the large windows. Leather furniture and accessories, including a bespoke mid-century lounge seat and a tailor-made magazine rack, and a chalk stripe carpet are also new.
The guestrooms also have abstract photography by artists including New York-based Rajmohan Fotograf, Maryland artist Llewellyn Berry and Venezuela-born Tony Vazquez-Figueroa.
Gild Hall’s six suites were also redesigned and enhanced. A mix of mid-century modern furnishings is paired with a color scheme of grays and tans in the penthouse that was reconfigured to accommodate meetings and intimate events for up to 15 people. It has a bar, dining area with a table for 12, lounge and connecting room.
The King Suite houses artwork from American photographer Slim Aarons, while the Thompson Suite includes a full bar, leather sofas and custom lounge chairs, in addition to a standing clawfoot tub in the bathroom. Each suite has bar offerings from W&P Design, a Brooklyn-based boutique company.
Other amenities in Gild Hall are the lobby library, and – adjacent to the lobby – Felice Ristorante, which has wood detailing. Custom lighting highlights the upper-level wine lounge, La Soffitta, which houses a collection of Italian wines.
Located in Manhattan’s Financial District, near Battery Park City, the Brooklyn Bridge, South Street Seaport and more, Gild Hall is at 15 Gold Street on the corner of Platt Street in New York.
