Historic Dallas hotel unveils renovation

Dallas’ historic Warwick Melrose hotel is nearing completion of a major renovation. In addition to updating its 184 guestrooms and suites, the property has also added a pool and full-service luxury spa for the first time in its nearly 100-year history, as well as the 6,000-square-foot Turtle Creek Grand Ballroom.

The hotel has a classic marble-floored lobby with ornate chandeliers and vintage touches like the wrought iron mail drop first used by residents of The Melrose Court Apartments in 1924. The guestrooms got updated walls, furniture and drapes to reflect a more contemporary palette. Soft pearl hues and organic textures extend to the bathrooms that now have glass-enclosed showers, marble flooring and new vanities, toilets and illuminated mirrors.

The new Le Spa by Warwick Melrose has a lounge, steam rooms and six treatment suites. The Warwick Melrose’s new 1,225-square-foot pool and chaise lounge areas includes an on-site bar and cabanas. The new Turtle Creek Grand Ballroom has 30-foot ceilings and no pillars allowing for a completely open venue that includes a 2,500-square-foot prefunction space styled with traditional red brick and a flat façade complete with the Melrose griffins etched into the exterior.
