Hotel Washington completes property rebrand

In Washington, D.C., the Hotel Washington has completed a propertywide rebrand. The 106-year-old hotel, which most recently operated as a W property, received enhancements to its public spaces. A new lobby restaurant is slated to debut this summer.

“It’s been an honor to be at the helm of such a transformative moment in Hotel Washington’s story,” GM Stephane Vogel said in a statement. “The property has been widely recognized as an icon in the hospitality landscape of Washington, D.C., since opening its doors over 100 years ago. We are excited to reinvigorate the life of the hotel and reclaim its status as a stopping point for world leaders, dignitaries, entrepreneurs and elevated thinkers. Our name celebrates our city, owns our location and puts a stake in the ground as the place to be. While there are many hotels in Washington, there is only one Hotel Washington.”

The revival of Hotel Washington and its new branding were developed with Brooklyn-based artist Amit Greenberg, who helped create the lobby décor, wallpaper and neon signs. The residential-style rooms have cherry blossom-adorned headboards and floor-to-ceiling murals in premier suites. The lobby, with its signature arches and mirrored ceiling paying homage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, has been refreshed with seating vignettes.

Refreshed Aesthetics

Hotel Washington’s new aesthetic pairs silver foil-stamped logos and hand-lettering with warm neutrals. Abstract line art is inspired by the sgraffito on the building's façade.

The centerpiece of the hotel's food and beverage programming is the VUE Rooftop, an artfully designed destination with views of the White House and Washington Monument, overseen by chef de cuisine Roberto Campos. For an al fresco option, The Patio serves classic American fare outdoors. This summer, Hotel Washington will open a new restaurant, Fireclay, with an open-hearth concept and many dishes that incorporate elements of char, ash or fire.
