Hilton Barra installs EcoSmart technology to reduce energy consumption

The five-star Hilton Barra in Rio de Janeiro is installing Telkonet’s EcoSmart technology in 298 guest rooms. The EcoSmart energy management system was chosen for this new hotel build-out because of its ability to reduce energy consumption and equipment runtime by up to 45 percent while maintaining guests' comfort. The installation covers all of the hotel's 298 guest rooms and all lobby and conference areas and meeting spaces.

The Hilton Barra, Rio de Janeiro is the first, newly constructed property for Hilton Hotels & Resorts in Latin America. The hotel includes 14,000 square feet of meeting space as well as other high-end amenities. Additionally, the Hilton Barra will be a sponsored hotel for travelers all around the world attending the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. The hotel is located in close proximity to the planned Olympic Park. The Hilton Barra will open in November.
