OpenKey integrates with Kaba for guestroom locks

OpenKey, the front-end keyless mobile-entry solution, has integrated with international security company Kaba. This partnership means that Bluetooth low-energy locks produced by Kaba will be OpenKey compatible.

OpenKey is a mobile application that allows keyless entry to hotel rooms via a guest’s smartphone. Reportedly backed by 12 of the top 25 hotel owner groups, OpenKey's technology can be integrated into hotel brand apps or work as a standalone solution. Kaba, meanwhile, offers keyless mobile entry to its hospitality customers.

In a statement, Kaba VP of Marketing Stephen Pollack said that the integration “provides a turnkey mobile access solution for hotel operators. This will enable properties to implement Kaba’s secure mobile key platform and make the convenience of mobile access available to guests at properties of any size.”

OpenKey’s open platform lets hotel owners launch their own keyless room entry system without changing their current infrastructure or mobile services. OpenKey is now available in the App Store for iOS devices and through the Google Play store for Android devices.
