Arbor Lodging Partners, a Chicago-based hotel investment and management company, acquired its first property in the Chicagoland market with the Chicago Marriott Schaumburg. Located at 50 North Martingale Road, Schaumburg, Ill., the 398-room hotel marks Arbor Lodging’s fifth Marriott International-branded hotel, and was acquired through a joint-venture with Middleton Partners. The full-service hotel will be managed by Arbor Lodging Partners’ affiliate Arbor Lodging Management, and is the first in a series of new additions coming to Arbor’s portfolio in 2018.

Upon acquisition, Arbor Lodging Partners will begin execution of a renovation and repositioning of the hotel. The renovation will include a modern update to all guestrooms and guest bathrooms, a reimagined and contemporary lobby and dining experience, enhancements to meeting facilities and introduction of Marriott’s M Club Lounge for elite members of the Marriott Rewards program.

"The decision to add the Chicago Marriott Schaumburg to our hotel collection stems much deeper than simply adding another 398 rooms to the portfolio," Vamsi Bonthala, CEO of Arbor Lodging Partners, said in a statement. "This investment in our local community directly aligns with Arbor’s disciplined investment strategy, growth plans, and values. We’ve been looking for the right opportunity to make our entry into the competitive Chicago market for some time and when presented with a performing asset that has significant upside, we knew it was the right choice for Arbor.”

The Chicago Marriott Schaumburg’s guestrooms include large workstations with ergonomic chairs, renovated marble-clad bathrooms, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi and Frette linens. The hotel houses more than 28,000 square feet of meeting and event space, the BlueFire Grille, a full-service, American restaurant serving up internationally-influenced dishes, Bevande Lounge, the hotel’s on-site bar, and its very own coffee house, the Bean Counter. The hotel also includes a 24 hour fitness center, indoor pool and seasonal outdoor heated pool. The property is designed for families, leisure and corporate travelers, and is centrally located near Legoland Discovery Center Chicago, Woodfield Mall, a selection of golf courses and downtown Chicago.

"This property is in a very desirable location for a myriad of corporate and leisure travelers and brings a long-standing reputation for outstanding customer service," Sheenal Patel, CEO of Arbor Lodging Management, said in a statement. "We’re excited to begin working with the team there and will continue to drive its successful performance by creating engaging, memorable guest experiences.”
