HEI Hotels & Resorts has sold the 152-room Aloft Houston Galleria. The buyer and price were not disclosed, though reports are that Westpark I, a Melville, N.Y.-based group bought the property. HFF represented HEI in the sale, which closed on Dec. 22. HEI will continue to manage the hotel, a few blocks from the Galleria Mall.
The five-story Aloft was completed in 2009. As Commercial Property Executive reports, the HFF investment sales team was led by senior managing director Dan Peek; managing directors John Bourret and Colby Mueck; and real estate analyst Austin Brooks.
CPE further reports that about 4,700 hotel rooms are under construction in Houston, or more than a third of the 14,000 or so under way throughout Texas.
