REIT LaSalle acquires Portland's Heathman Hotel

One of Portland's more well-known hotels has a new owner. Bethesda, Md.-based REIT LaSalle Hotel Properties has acquired the Heathman Hotel, reports the Portland Business Journal, which adds that long-time GM Chris Erickson, who had been at the property since 2006, and DOSM Stephen Galvan were subsequently let go.

Erickson is reportedly also chair of the Travel Portland Board of Directors, serves on the Oregon Tourisim Commission and is a commissioner on the Metropolitan Exposition Recreation Commission.

A purchase price was not disclosed.

London-based Taylor-Clark was the seller, and announced in September it's intention to sell the 150-room, 10-story hotel at 1001 S.W. Broadway, along with the 91-room Heathman Hotel Kirkland in Seattle.

LaSalle Hotel Properties owns 44 hotels, according to its website.
