Westin appears destined for new Buffalo project

A Westin hotel appears bound for Buffalo, as Delaware North, the global food service and hospitality company, prepares to bring the brand to its new downtown corporate headquarters tower now under construction, reports Buffalo News.

According to a job posting on Delaware North’s website, subsidiary Patina Restaurant Group is seeking a general manager to run a “Neapolitan-inspired Italian restaurant” that “will be located within the new Westin Hotel and the Delaware North Headquarters.”

Uniland Development Co. is building the 12-story office and hotel tower at 250 Delaware Ave., at West Chippewa Street. The $110-million project features a 119-room hotel on the second through fifth floors, to be operated by Delaware North, Buffalo News further reports.

Delaware North has declined to confirm which hotel will occupy the space. Delaware North “is actively working to bring a premium lifestyle hotel brand to the 250 Delaware project as an important component of our new global headquarters,” spokesman Glen A. White said last fall. “Given that Delaware North will operate the hotel, we want the hotel brand aligned with our world-class portfolio of lodging operations, complementing our own brand character and commitment.”
