My Place to break ground on 3 hotels, opens another

My Place Hotels of America, on schedule to reach 50 locations within a few months, according to president/CEO Ryan Rivett, expects to break ground on three hotels this week. Over the course of two days, the company plans on hosting groundbreaking ceremonies for its upcoming locations in Shakopee, Minn., Plainfield, Ind., and Overland Park, Kan., as well as a grand opening for its Hastings, Neb., hotel.

A week and a half ago, My Place opened its 46th location in Wixom, Mich., a little over half an hour northwest of Detroit. The new three-story, 64-unit hotel is owned by Wixom Hotel Partners and operated by Legacy Management.

An Aberdeen, S.D.-based franchise company, My Place currently has locations open in 21 states and more than 120 hotels in its pipeline. Its hotels include on-site laundry facilities, a 24-hour shop and in-room kitchens, complete with a cooktop, microwave and full refrigerator.
