California, Florida hotels rebrand as Hilton properties

Two hotels in sunny climates are changing their brands ahead of the summer travel season.

Wayfarer Downtown LA

In California, the Wayfarer Downtown LA is set to join the Tapestry Collection by Hilton portfolio on April 29.

“We are thrilled to transition to a Tapestry Collection by Hilton property and continue our partnership with Hilton,” Pacifica Hotels CEO Matt Marquis said in a statement. “This boutique property is truly a gem within our collection, and we look forward to joining forces with one of the largest hotel groups in the world.”

The is on the nearly century-old site of the former Ritz Milner Hotel. The 156-room hotel underwent a renovation in early 2020 overseen by Los Angeles-based architecture firm Rockefeller Kempel Architects and The Gettys Group in collaboration with Pacifica Hotels’ in-house design team.

Hilton Garden Inn Cocoa Beach Oceanfront

The Cocoa Beach (Fla.) DoubleTree by Hilton—originally built in 1987 and renovated in June—has rebranded as Hilton Garden Inn Cocoa Beach Oceanfront.

The transition has been in the works since OTO Development acquired the property last September.

The 150-room Hilton Garden Inn Cocoa Beach Oceanfront has a gym, game room and outdoor pool. The property also has 11,000 square feet of event space, including a ballroom that can accommodate 410 guests for seated banquets and 700 for receptions. OTO also turned the food-and-beverage spaces into The Starlite Restaurant & Pool Bar, named after Cocoa Beach’s first astronaut-centric motel.
