Columbia Sussex completes renovation of two Alaska Hiltons

Columbia Sussex, which owns and manages several hotels in Anchorage, Alaska, recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation to its two extended stay properties—Homewood Suites by Hilton and Hampton Inn. The renovations included refreshing upgrades to the lobbies and public spaces, dining areas, guestrooms, fitness centers and meeting spaces.

Located in the midtown section of Anchorage, both properties are near Ted Stevens International Airport, and within walking distance of several restaurants.

Homewood Suites Anchorage’s 125-room renovation includes:

  • Updated public spaces with the latest brand amenities
  • New modern finishes and furniture in the lobby
  • New carpeting, wallcoverings and lighting fixtures in the corridors
  • New furniture like dining room chairs, sofabeds and lounge chairs in the suites
  • New lighting in the living and sleeping areas to enhance the new bedroom accent walls, new headboards and new artwork

New amenities include:

  • Work stations with desk-level electrical outlets 
  • Hilton alarm clock radio with MP3 Player plug-in.
  • Cuisinart single serve/dual cup coffee maker.
  • Strategically placed mirrors, including back-lit vanity mirror and full length mirrors.
  • Showers with rain showerhead fixtures.
  • Alaska inspired artwork.

The Hampton Inn’s 101-room renovation is part of the brand’s redesign that updated exterior, public space and guestroom designs with Hampton by Hilton’s Casual Design option for its guestrooms and Confident Design scheme for public spaces. The renovations include:

  • New exterior façade with enhanced lighting, new paint scheme, a porte cochere and enlarged windows
  • Public spaces with a revamped lodge-inspired lobby, front desk area, corridors and meeting rooms with new signage and décor
  • Guestrooms got warm color palettes, new bedding and space-saving alterations such as mounted TVs, storage units and a desk area
  • Bathrooms with enhanced lighting, décor and bath fixtures.
  • New lighting in both the living and sleeping areas to enhance the new bedroom accent walls, new headboards and new artwork.
