First look at Arizona's Global Ambassador hotel

Hospitality professional Sam Fox is set to open The Global Ambassador in Phoenix on Dec. 6. The 141-room hotel was inspired by Fox’s global travels.

“Opening The Global Ambassador is a defining moment in my career and one that I’m extremely proud of,” said Fox, founder and CEO of Fox Restaurant Concepts and founder of Author & Edit Hospitality, the developer, owner and manager of the hotel. “While the hotel’s influence is global in scale, its roots run deep in the surrounding community. The Global Ambassador is a convergence of hospitality, wellness, culinary and culture—it has become my legacy project.”

The hotel’s food-and-beverage lineup includes five original concepts, including the state’s largest rooftop venue with views of Camelback Mountain. Nelsen Partners oversaw the project's architecture for Common Bond Development Group, a frequent partner of Fox Restaurant Concepts.

Design details include custom walnut millwork and fabric wallcoverings for a residential feel in the guestrooms along with Waterworks fixtures, private Juliet balconies, artwork by local artist Michael Carson and an in-room bar.

Food and Beverages

The Global Ambassador’s restaurants are also influenced by Fox’s international travels:

  • Le Âme is A Parisian steakhouse and bistro with a variety of classic French dishes like Steak Frites, Mussels en Boullion, Loup de Mer and Crab Tagliolini. Le Âme serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.
  • Pink Dolphin serves Mexican and Peruvian-inspired dishes and drinks by the hotel pool.
  • Théa Mediterranean Rooftop, set to open in mid-January, is on the hotel’s rooftop and draws inspiration from the Mediterranean. Théa is open nightly for dinner as well as weekend brunch.
  • Le Market pays homage to European morning markets, serving pastries, smoothies and espresso.
  • The Lobby Bar has windows that open up onto the hotel’s central courtyard, dotted with 100-year-old olive trees.

Wellness & Fitness

Spanning 16,000 square feet, The Spa has 10 treatment rooms for facials, full-body massages, light therapy, IV drips and cryotherapy. Many of the spa’s partners are first-to-market and exclusively available in Arizona, including U Beauty, Augustinus Bader, Biologique Recherche, MOVA by Camila Perez, Environ and Oxylight Sapphire. The locker room areas have a jacuzzi, cold plunge, steam room and sauna.

The hotel also has a 9,000-square-foot fitness facility with Technogym and Eleiko equipment along with a Movement Studio, Spin Studio and Pilates Room, all designed around the picturesque views of Camelback Mountain. Two outdoor wellness decks are designed for sunrise meditation and alfresco classes.

After opening invite-only studios in Los Angeles and New York City, Forma Pilates is opening its first and only Arizona studio at The Global Ambassador.

The hotel is a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Legend Collection.
