Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette debuts renovations

In downtown Peoria, Ill., the 286-room Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette has completed a soft renovation and repositioning.

The project was led by Eva Hill of Venture Oaks Real Estate Group, while the interior design was overseen by Gina Goodin and Christie Ramos-Pacheco of CallisonRTKL. The new look pays tribute to the hotel’s past.

Adjacent to the hotel lobby, the Great Room is a gathering hip with groups of seating options and a Bourbon-centric bar. The space is outfitted with textured red velvet and gold metal accents, balanced by furnishings in neutral tones. The guestroom walls are now colored a deep blue emphasized by sculptural lighting.

The Presidential Suite has bright white walls matched with paneling and crown molding for an airy aesthetic. The two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom suite includes custom artworks of past presidents at leisure. The 1,800-square-foot suite includes a separate living room and dining room.

The newly-appointed Bridal Suite is inspired by Audrey Hepburn, with a blush-forward color palette and curved, sculptural furnishings in the parlor. The black-and-white dining chairs are meant to evoke Hepburn’s signature style. The suite’s prep room includes Lucite accent chairs and a mirrored vanity.

First opened in 1927 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette has hosted former Presidents Ronald Reagan, John F. Kennedy, Gerald Ford and Dwight D. Eisenhower as well as entertainers Bob Hope, Tony Bennett and Liberace.

The hotel has more than 18,000 square feet of function space, including four ballrooms. Additional onsite amenities include a newly-updated fitness center, an indoor pool and a hot tub as well as a pantry store. The property, operated by Davidson Hotels, is connected to the Peoria Civic Center.
