Mosaic Hotel Collection, a group of hotels across Northern California and beyond, and Napa Valley Land Co., a hotel and resort development firm, have started construction on The Elene, a new boutique resort and dining venue set to open in California’s Napa Valley in early 2026. The property was concepted and will be managed by Mosaic with design by Signum Architecture and interiors by Parts and Labor Design. Construction is from Nordby Construction and the landscaping will be overseen by San Francisco-based Surfacedesign.
The resort, which is along the Napa Valley Vine Trail for direct trail access, will have 50 guestrooms and suites, a heated pool, Recovery Garden and fitness studio. Public amenities will include a restaurant, bar, café, outdoor “Living Room” and a cycling program and bike barn.
“The Elene caters to today’s sophisticated traveler, offering both guests and locals a more immersive and authentic Napa Valley experience focused on engaging with their surrounding experiences,” Tim Harmon, CEO of Mosaic Hotel Collection, said in a statement. “All aspects of The Elene, from its clean design to its intentional programming, embody a less-is-more ethos—eliminating distractions to provide a platform for true connection.”
Design & Accommodations
Integrated with the picturesque vineyards, the resort is designed as a collection of free-standing structures surrounding a central arrival area and woven together by landscaped outdoor gathering spaces. Co-developed by Greg Pitts, owner of Napa Valley Land Co. and partner at Panoramic Advisors, the grounds include a public café, central courtyard and bike center that complements the more private, intimate resort. The Elene also has a water recycling program and solar program, as well as a variety of initiatives to reduce carbon emissions, including incentives to walk and bike to the property.
The resort has 46 vineyard-view guestrooms and four suites. Each has private side entries, oversized residential-like bathrooms and large decks with lounge areas and fire pits. The suites will have nearly 1,200 square feet of interior and exterior space, an expanded bedroom, living room, dining room and kitchen.
Dining & Gathering
The Elene will include several public onsite dining options for both guests and the local community. The restaurant will serve live-fire cuisine while the café and adjacent courtyard will operate as a community gathering spot.
The public courtyard will have sitting areas, water fountains, communal fire tables and a place to park bikes. An outdoor Living Room will have intimate lounge areas with fire tables.
Amenities
Beyond the Living Room, the hotel will have a heated 25-yard pool, a water-recovery circuit, a Recovery Garden, a movement and fitness studio, a cycling program and bike barn and multiple gathering lawns.
The Recovery Garden was designed by luxury spa and design consultant, Lydia Mondavi. A departure from the formality of a traditional hotel spa, the Recovery Garden prioritizes an active recovery experience through a circuit of self-care rituals. Guests can circulate between an infrared sauna, hot and cold plunge and a thermal mineral pool with targeted massage showers.
