A building listed in the Historic Places by the National Register is slated to reopen in 2020 as a hotel that will be part of the Graduate Hotels collection.
Adventurous Journeys (AJ) Capital Partners acquired The Homestead at 625 Hinman Avenue in Evanston, Ill. The eight-story, 91-room property will run independently as The Homestead prior to and during renovations, which will begin in early 2020.
Designed by Chicago-based DMAC Architecture with interior design handled by the Graduate Hotels in-house team, the hotel is slated to open by fall.
The building itself originally opened in 1927. In addition to its updated guestrooms, the hotel will also get a new restaurant and café concept when it reopens.
There are currently 21 Graduate Hotels open and operating across the US, and an additional 12 properties under development and slated to open by the end of 2020.
