IHG plans second Holiday Inn resort for Japan

IHG is set to open the ANA Holiday Inn Resort Shinano-omachi Kuroyon in Nagano, Japan, next year through a management agreement with Kanden Amenix Co., Ltd. The property will be the second Holiday Inn Resort in the country.

When it opens in Q2f 2020, the hotel will have 73 guestrooms and another 30 will open in 2021. Public spaces will include a restaurant, swimming pool and spa, tennis courts, golf course, hot spring bath and a gym.

The hotel is located in the northwestern part of Nagano Prefecture, which has reported increased visitor numbers in recent years. 

In Japan, IHG currently has 32 hotels operating under three brands, including ANA InterContinental, ANA Crowne Plaza and ANA Holiday Inn, with another five in the pipeline, including Hotel Indigo and Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. The company will open  the 89-room ANA InterContinental Beppu Resort & Spa on August 1, expected to be the first international luxury resort in Japan's Oita Prefecture.
