Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, has partnered with JMA Ventures and Machete Group to develop the boutique luxury brand’s first location in Orlando. The new hotel will be located adjacent to the Kia Center arena as part of Westcourt’s new mixed-use sports and entertainment development.
The 261-room, 11-story Kimpton will have over 16,000 square feet of indoor meeting space. There also will a full-service restaurant and lobby bar, a cafe, and pool bar and pool lounge. As with all Kimpton hotels, the property will feature perks such as Kimpton Kickstart morning coffee and tea service, Kimpton Social every evening, a “Forgot It? We’ve Got It!” program, in-room yoga mats and pet-friendly policies.
“We’re thrilled to be a part of Westcourt and once again partner with JMA Ventures," Leanne Harwood, SVP, managing director for Luxury & Lifestyle Americas at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said in a statement. "We first teamed up with JMA on our beloved Kimpton Sawyer and now on our new Orlando hotel. We join Westcourt on a journey to provide guests with a one-of-a kind boutique respite, which will open the door to an array of new and expansive experiences for travelers and locals to enjoy within the heartbeat of the city."
Located on an eight-acre site bounded by Church Street to the south, Division Avenue to the west, Central Boulevard to the north, and Hughey Avenue to the east, Westcourt will integrate 265 multi-family rental units atop the hotel. The project will also have up to 300,000 square feet of office space and a 120,000 square foot retail. Additionally, there will be a 3,500-capacity live event venue, multiple meeting spaces and a 1,140 space parking garage.
“We are looking forward to collaborating with Kimpton on our second project together," said Todd Chapman, partner and CEO at JMA Ventures. "Their renowned commitment to excellence and innovative approach to the guest experience make them the perfect partner for enhancing the atmosphere we envision at Westcourt, setting a new standard of hospitality in downtown Orlando."
The new Kimpton Orlando will become the seventh Kimpton in Florida.
