InterContinental Hotels Group has announced plans to open the first Kimpton hotel in Paris. The hotel, with 149 rooms and 27 suites, is set to open in 2020.

The Kimpton Paris is the second hotel in the brand to be signed in Europe, following the January signing of the upcoming Amsterdam property. There are currently 62 managed Kimpton hotels in the U.S. (with 11,153 rooms) and a further 18 (3,450 rooms) in the pipeline as of the end of the first quarter of the year.

“Bringing Kimpton to Paris marks another milestone for expansion of the brand into Europe, and we’re delighted to be working with AXA IM - Real Assets to bring Kimpton to France,” Angela Brav, IHG’s chief executive officer, Europe, said in a statement.

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants was acquired by IHG in January 2015.
