Kimpton to open fourth hotel in Carolinas

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants revealed plans to open a 170-room hotel in Greenville, S.C. The property will join other Kimpton hotels in Asheville, N.C.; Charlotte, N.C.; and Winston-Salem, N.C., making it the brand's fourth location in the Carolinas.

The new hotel will offer extensive food-and-beverage programming, including an indoor and outdoor rooftop bar and restaurant, a basement brewery and tap room, a ground-level restaurant, a lobby coffee shop and retail space. It will also provide more than 6,800 square feet of meeting and event space. The hotel will be operated by Hostmark Hospitality with financing from Sixty West Funds.

“We’re excited to remain a partner for this development and see the new Kimpton hotel come to life,” said Jennings Lyon, CEO of LyonJay Capital and owner of the property for the past six years. “It’s the perfect mix of partners to bring a special addition to our town.”

The project will bring in Killian Construction as general contractor, Nicholas Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates as architect and Johnson Nathan Strohe to lead interior design.

"This is the fourth hotel in Greenville we have been involved in developing and financing, and this will be our boldest effort,” Stephen Holden, founder of Sixty West, said in a statement. “We have shifted our emphasis as a company on the experiential. Bringing this iconic lifestyle brand to our property in the historic West End of this great city, we are very confident it will bring a new level of casual luxury to town."
