Minor Hotels is set to open the Anantara Miami Resort & Residences as the brand's debut in the United States. Developed in partnership with One Thousand Group, the 50-story, 650-foot tower will be developed where Miami’s Edgewater, Design District and Wynwood neighborhoods meet and is expected to open in 2030, becoming the first tower in the area to offer uninterrupted views across Biscayne Bay.
The tower will have 100 private branded residences and 120 resort residences, allowing owners to make their residences available to hotel guests, in addition to 50 hotel suites.
“Miami is the perfect location for the debut of our luxury Anantara brand into the U.S., and we are excited to partner with One Thousand Group to bring this vision to reality,” William E. Heinecke, founder and chairman of Minor International, the owning company of Minor Hotels, said in a statement.
According to the company, the project is envisioned as an “urban sanctuary responding to growing demand for restorative city living.” The project will have a dedicated vitality center focused on “movement, nutrition and recovery” alongside “holistic programming” inspired by Thai healing traditions.
Kevin Venger, co-founder of One Thousand Group, said the development would introduce “something entirely new to the U.S. It’s not just another branded residence, but a fully realized concept that blends hospitality, private ownership and longevity into one unified experience.”
Architecture will be overseen by Kohn Pedersen Fox, which also oversaw One Vanderbilt in New York, in collaboration with ODP Architecture & Design, while interiors will be by Patricia Urquiola, marking her first residential project in the United States.
The tower will incorporate a private rooftop helipad and will be close to popular restaurants, galleries, boutiques and cultural institutions, including Pérez Art Museum, the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science and the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.
“Our approach has always been to anticipate where the market is going and develop buildings that don’t yet exist in Miami,” said Michael Konig, co-founder of One Thousand Group. “With Anantara, we saw an opportunity to bring a globally respected brand into a market that is ready for something more meaningful and experience-driven.”
Sales are anticipated to launch later this year, with One Sotheby’s International Realty appointed as the exclusive sales partner.
