Mortenson to develop, construct Nashville's first Motto by Hilton

Mortenson Development has purchased a site in Nashville's South of Broadway neighborhood, closed on the construction financing and is set to start construction later this month on the first Motto by Hilton in the area.

Located in the SoBro neighborhood, the hotel is three blocks south of Broadway Street and is within walking distance to several leisure and group attractions such as Music City Convention Center, Bridgestone Arena, Country Music Hall of Fame and Ascend Open Air Amphitheater. Amenities include a full-service restaurant, multiple bars, a coffee venue, fitness center, meeting space and an outdoor patio.

The design of the Motto by Hilton hotel is flexible. Thirty percent of guest rooms are linkable, allowing guests to adapt their room selections for their group's needs.

“We are very proud to be delivering this unique, high-quality lodging product to the Nashville market. It has been rewarding to partner with Hilton Worldwide, the City of Nashville, and many other community stakeholders to transform this location into a mixed-use, urban community,” Alex Sanders, development executive at Mortenson, said in a statement. “The Motto brand will provide both business and leisure travelers with upscale, yet affordable accommodations, with unexpected amenities and an unforgettable experience.”

Mortenson is serving as both the developer and design-builder of this hotel. The design team includes Esa Architects and Wild Muse Interior Design firm. Mortenson helped lead the construction team responsible for building GEODIS Park stadium in 2022. The company’s Nashville office is led by Dan Mehls, vice president and general manager.
