Ocean House Management, Wykeham Rise partner on Connecticut hotel

Ocean House Management, owner and operator of boutique luxury hotels, including the Ocean House in Watch Hill, R.I., will assist Wykeham Rise Hotel Partners in developing Wykeham Rise and subsequently manage the property upon opening. The 27-acre luxury inn began construction April 1, with an anticipated opening date in summer 2019 in Washington, Conn., 80 miles north of New York City.

"We are honored to expand our collection of hotels in New England's most desirable locations with the addition of Wykeham Rise in Washington, Conn.," Daniel A. Hostettler, president and group managing director, Ocean House Management, said in a statement. "Wykeham Rise is the first addition to our collection away from the New England shoreline, and perfectly complements our other boutique hotels."

Wykeham Rise is set amidst 4,500 acres of nature preserves and 36 miles of hiking trails, offering 54 rooms, signature suites, cottages and a 11,000-square-foot boutique suite-style spa. The property will also have an outdoor pool, fitness center, wine and culinary education center and a roster of activities under the direction of a full-time naturalist. Blending indoor and outdoor living, the inn will offer multiple indoor and outdoor meeting and entertainment venues, a kitchen garden and orchard, swimming pool, skating pond, sledding field and acres of hiking trails.

The project will have one- and two-story privately owned residences managed by OHM, allowing owners to place their units into the inn's rental program. Each will include multiple master suites and indoor and outdoor spaces, custom designed to meet the owner's specifications. Owners will have access to the full range of amenities afforded to inn guests.
