Village Hotel Club to invest £480M in UK growth

With 30 hotels across the UK, Warrington-based hotel operator Village Hotel Club is looking to open five hotels over the next two years, with a further 15 sites planned by 2026.

According to Executive Chairman Gary Davis, Village will invest £24 million per hotel for a total planned investment of £480 million over the next eight years. The group's research indicated there are more than 100 potential Village Hotel locations across the UK.

The company opened its 30th hotel this month in Filton, Bristol's technology and business hub. The high-tech property has a virtual concierge in every guestroom through an Amazon Echo or Echo Dot and its gym offers a Les Mills spin class, reportedly one of only eight in the UK.

"The openings in Bristol this year and Portsmouth last year mark a turning point in Village Hotel Club's expansion plans, and Bristol is our most high-tech hotel to date," stated Davis. "We are continuing to innovate and develop the product with the modern visitor and resident in mind, and I look forward to working with the entire Village team to ensure that we continue to deliver success."
