Virgin Hotels is set to open in three locations across the U.S. this year. The first opening will be the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, followed by Virgin Hotels New Orleans this summer and Virgin Hotels New York City this fall. Virgin Hotels Edinburgh (Scotland) and Miami are planned for 2022 and beyond, with hotel management signings announced before year-end.
Virgin Hotels Las Vegas will open this spring as part of the Curio Collection by Hilton. Formerly the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, the reimagined lifestyle casino resort will have 1,504 guestrooms. Public spaces will include a 60,000 square foot casino, five acres of poolside spaces and outdoor event venues, dining options and 110,000 square feet of meeting, event and convention spaces. The property is being developed by JC Hospitality.
The Virgin Hotels New Orleans will open this summer in the Warehouse District of New Orleans. The new-build hotel will have more than 230 guestrooms, the Commons Club, a rooftop pool and lounge, a gym as well as dedicated meeting and event spaces. Virgin Hotels will manage the hotel, which was designed by local interior design firm Logan Killen Interiors, Mathes Brierre Architects, CallisonRTKL Architects, Broadmoor Construction and developed by The Buccini/Pollin Group.
Virgin Hotels' new flagship is set to open in New York City's NoMad neighborhood on Broadway between 29th and 30th street. Virgin Hotels New York City will have 463 guestrooms, a roofscape pool and numerous dining outlets, including Commons Club and a rooftop bar. The first and second floors will be occupied with retail, while Virgin Hotels will take up the floors above. The building is designed by MarkZeff Design and developed by the Lam Group.
The Virgin Hotels Edinburgh is expected to open in 2022. Construction is currently underway in both the landmark India Buildings at 1-6 Victoria Street and the new Southern extension, which is nearing completion. The hotel will have 225 chambers and Grand Chamber Suites; multiple dining and drinking outlets and meeting spaces. Virgin Hotels Edinburgh will be completed in partnership with owner and developer Flemyn and managed by Virgin Hotels.
Virgin Hotels Miami is slated to open in 2023 in a 40-story new-build hotel with close to 250 guestrooms. Public spaces will include a spa, more than 15,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a restaurant, a bar, a beer garden (and live music venue) and the Funny Library Coffee Shop. Virgin Hotels Miami, managed by Virgin Hotels, is being developed by Blue Jay Capital with Blur Workshop as the architect.
Virgin Hotels' development team is currently exploring new opportunities for expansion. Cities with forthcoming new development include Philadelphia; Glasgow, Scotland; Cannes, France; and Ibiza, Spain.
