Chicago Athletic Association hotel unveils 13th-floor terrace

Cindy’s, the rooftop restaurant, bar and open-air terrace located on the 13th floor of the Chicago Athletic Association hotel, unveils its new outdoor terrace bar this May just in time to welcome the Chicago summer. The newly constructed buildout will offer a full bar, featuring a curated wine list from assistant GM and sommelier Sterling Knight, large-format cocktails from spirit guide Nandini Khaund specific to the terrace bar, and the second year roll-out of executive pastry chef Jove Hubbard’s spirited popsicles.

The fully outfitted open-air bar is situated steps away from the balcony on Cindy’s terrace, offering uncompromised views of Millennium Park and Lake Michigan beyond. Knight’s wine list for the outdoor terrace bar will boast a rotating selection of four rosés, allowing guests to drink pink all day and night. For those interested in the alluring and quixotic, Khaund will feature a rotating large-format cocktail created specifically for the outdoor space. Guided by the weather, the ingredients, and whim, Khaund will regularly debut new patio potions in limited edition runs.

Bringing back his popsicles from their popular turn sold street-level at Michigan Avenue last summer, Hubbard brings his imaginative popsicles upstairs. Offered exclusively on the terrace, these frozen confections will be available for purchase exclusively outside with or without a spirited dash of booze, and are created to reflect the flavors found on Hubbard’s dessert menu available this season in the dining room at Cindy’s.

The addition of the new bar creates a new rooftop destination for private events al fresco. Cindy’s terrace bar will be available for private events and functions as a sun-splashed space by day, or star-filled canopy at night for corporate receptions, birthday gatherings, family parties, and more.
