6 hotels open in the Midwest

Three Marriott International brands, My Place Hotels, Home2 Suites by Hilton and Cambria Hotels added new locations in the Midwest recently.

My Place Hotels expanded into its 25th state with the opening of the 63-room My Place Hotel-Minneapolis/Shakopee (Minn.). The property marked the sixth My Place Hotel for its developer, Eller Enterprises. True Hospitality operates the hotel.

The 120-key TownePlace Suites by Marriott Detroit Belleville (Mich.) opened Feb. 5. The hotel, which is owned by Belleville Development and managed by Namou Hotel Group, includes a grab-and-go market, an indoor swimming pool, a 24-hour fitness center, laundry facilities and 1,300 square feet of meeting space. It is located 2 miles from Willow Run Airport, 6 miles from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and 20 minutes from downtown Detroit.

A couple days earlier, the 108-room Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Sheboygan opened in Wisconsin. Amenities there include an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, business services and a full-service bar. Wisco Hotel Group of Madison, Wis., owns and operates the hotel.

LinGate Hospitality opened the 107-room Home2 Suites by Hilton Columbus West in Ohio. The property features a combined laundry and fitness area, a grab-and-go market and an indoor saline pool. Located at the intersection of I-70 and I-270, it is a 15-minute drive from downtown Columbus, Ohio, and Ohio State University. The hotel marks the second Home2 Suites by Hilton developed and managed by LinGate Hospitality.

The 323-room Four Points by Sheraton Peoria opened in Illinois. The property includes 20,687 square feet of meeting space, a full-service restaurant, a 24-hour fitness center and a heated indoor swimming pool. Hawkeye Hotels of Coralville, Iowa, manages the property.

Ceres Enterprises and The Orlean Co. opened the 170-room Cambria Hotel Bloomington (Minn.) Mall of America. The hotel includes 4,000 square feet of meeting space, onsite dining, a fitness center and an indoor pool. Located adjacent to the Mall of America, it is within walking distance of the light rail, a five-minute drive from the airport and less than 20 minutes from both Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn.
