AC Hotel Frisco Colorado opens after renovation, rebranding

Nearly two years after acquiring the asset and launching a renovation and conversion, Denver-based 5 Senses Hospitality Management has opened the rebranded AC Hotel Frisco Colorado by Marriott.

Located in Frisco, Colo., the property is close to ski resorts including Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain, Beaver Creek, Arapahoe Basin and Vail. The property also is near Sapphire Point, a hiking trail and wedding destination, along with the Dillon Reservoir, a 300-acre lake.

The 133-guestroom pet-friendly hotel has a fitness room and an outdoor hot tub with a fire pit. The property also has a game room, a private dining and meeting room, a locker room, an indoor swimming pool, a library, a business center and the AC Restaurant and AC Lounge.

“Summit County is a remarkable, unique location for our expansion of the 5 Senses Hospitality Management portfolio," President and founder Chris Manley said in a statement. "Nestled in the heart of Colorado’s most stunning landscapes and surrounded by some of the most iconic world-class ski resorts in the Rocky Mountain region, the AC Hotel Frisco Colorado will provide guests with an oasis as they immerse themselves in the great outdoors."

Keeping sustainability at its core, the hotel's conversion from the Baymont Inn and Suites and Summit Suites recycled 48,000 pounds of scrap metal and saved 22,500 pounds of material from Colorado landfills. Additionally, the hotel salvaged and donated 10 mattresses and more than 150 appliances, recovered 20 couches from the landfill stream, recycled 800 pounds of universal waste and donated the property's gym equipment for reuse.
