Blue Flag Capital expands Faraway Hotels with Sag Harbor, Jackson Hole openings

Blue Flag Capital—in partnership with management company Collared Martin Hospitality—has opened two new Faraway Hotels properties in Sag Harbor, N.Y., and Jackson Hole, Wy.

The 67-room Faraway Sag Harbor in New York and 90-room Faraway Jackson Hole in Wyoming additions mark the first expansion of the Faraway Hotels brand beyond its existing portfolio. The openings are part of Blue Flag Capital's broader expansion strategy.

The Boston-based company recently opened Hotel Corduroy in Montauk and plans to debut Oyster Estate in Greenport later this summer. Its portfolio also includes Blue Iris, Brass Lantern Inn, Life House Nantucket, Faraway Nantucket and Faraway Martha's Vineyard.

“Sag Harbor and Jackson Hole are incredibly different destinations, but both share the qualities we look for—strong identities, rich histories and communities that care deeply about where they live,” Jason Brown, co-founder and CEO of Blue Flag Capital, said in a statement. “We're excited to bring the Faraway brand to each market in a way that feels authentic to its surroundings.”

Faraway Sag Harbor is a redevelopment of the former Baron's Cove property. The waterfront hotel features 67 guestrooms, an on-site restaurant, a heated outdoor pool with cabanas, a padel court, spa treatment rooms operated seasonally by ONDA Beauty, a fitness center and indoor and outdoor gathering spaces. The property's signature restaurant, Zagara, is led by executive chef and culinary director Jarad McCarroll and serves Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.

Faraway Jackson Hole, meanwhile, is located in Teton Village and represents the redevelopment of the former Snake River Lodge. The property includes 90 guestrooms and suites, 48 residences, an indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub, sauna, restaurant and direct access to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Later this summer, the hotel plans to introduce guided outdoor excursions through a partnership with Backcountry Safaris, including horseback riding, whitewater rafting and tours of Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks. The hotel's restaurant, Sure Hand, offers locally inspired cuisine and cocktails.
