California home to two new hotels

Hotels across the nation have closed their doors in recent months, but California is celebrating two recent openings.

Tharaldson Hospitality Management opened its 61st hotel last week. The pet-friendly Hampton Inn & Suites Imperial Beach San Diego has 100 suites, a heated indoor pool, a fitness center and a business center. The hotel also has a meeting room available for rent.

Under its franchise agreement with Hilton Worldwide Holdings, THM owns and operates the property. The hotel is located within 1 mile of the San Diego Bay and the Imperial Beach Pier. The Silver Strand State beach, the North Island Naval Air Station and the Las Americas Premium Outlets also are nearby.

The 103-room Fairfield by Marriott hotel in Camarillo, meanwhile, will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Plantation Bay Hotels of Irvine, Calif.

The hotel has a lobby area, public seating areas, an outdoor pool, a fitness room, a laundry room and a 24/7 market. Up to 70 guests can attend meetings in the 460-square-feet event space. Guestrooms include dedicated work areas, a central sleeping area and a living area with a sofa, a refrigerator, a coffeemaker and a microwave.

The hotel is located 45 minutes northwest of Los Angeles and 40 minutes south of Santa Barbara, close to Ventura State Beach, Channel Island Harbor and Point Mugu State Park.
