Choice opens Cambria Burbank

Choice Hotels International opens the Cambria Hotel Burbank Airport. The new hotel has 150 well-appointed rooms, upscale amenities and is conveniently located a mile from Burbank airport and a short distance from West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. The Burbank property was developed by Choice Hotels as part of its strategic development of Cambria hotels in well-situated markets. 

“The Cambria Hotel Burbank Airport is the latest example of high-quality hotels that continue to open under the Cambria brand,” Indy Adenaw, SVP and GM, upscale brands, Choice Hotels, said in a statement. “This hotel reflects our deep commitment to the Cambria brand and was developed directly by the company. Burbank will offer an upscale experience that our guests will love and will soon become the jewel for the Burbank market.”

Burbank marks the ninth new opening for the brand since the start of 2023 and comes on the heels of Cambria winning the J.D. Power award for the highest-ranking brand in the upscale category. An evolution to brand positioning work is now underway with RO New York, an award-winning and accomplished agency, and a new design package is underway with Design Agency, another skilled design and architecture agency.

As part of Choice’s focused self-development strategy, the company strategically develops a small number of hotels, such as Burbank, in select high-value locations to fuel brand growth and to advance key components of the brand and operating model. These assets are later sold to third-party owners, along with the Cambria flag, as Choice maintains its commitment to the franchising business model.

Cambria expects a strong pipeline and drumbeat of on-strategy hotels opening in the coming year. New openings in 2024 include the following markets: North Conway (N.H.), Spokane, Niagara Falls, Denver, Imperial (Ca.), Rehoboth Beach, Plymouth and Jacksonville (Fla.). The brand also has a pipeline of 81 hotels and 10,000 rooms.
