The Netherlands-based CitizenM brand has arrived in Malaysia with the CitizenM Kuala Lumpur Bukit Bintang hotel. It is the "affordable luxury" brand's third Asian hotel following the Taipei North Gate hotel opening in July 2017 and the Shanghai Hongqiao hotel opening December 2018.
The 210-room hotel is in the Bukit Bintang district of the city, close to temples and street markets.
The living room (the brand's name for the lobby) has a painted art ceiling, foliage carpets, and large planters with hanging greenery as well as check-in kiosks. The 24-hour CanteenM serves food and drinks, including coffee or cocktails. The space becomes a breakfast bar in the morning.
The hotel has three meeting spaces, the largest of which can be set up for 40 participants with a full-size whiteboard wall. The two smaller rooms can accommodate up to 14 guests. The spaces can be booked for full- or half-day events.
