CitizenM opens third Miami property in South Beach

citizenM opened its third property in Miami—citizenM Miami South Beach. Located near retail and restaurants on Lincoln Road in Miami's lively South Beach, the property has a rooftop infinity pool, locally sourced art and 24/7 food and drinks.

citizenM Miami South Beach follows the  openings of Miami Worldcenter in 2023 and Miami Brickell in 2022 and is a part of an ambitious expansion plan in the U.S. and beyond. Designed by citizenM’s long standing partner Concrete Amsterdam and local architecture firm Gensler, guests have come to not only recognize citizenM’s distinct style, but seek out its ‘affordable luxury’ experience. citizenM Miami South Beach will join the portfolio as the 36th hotel and follows recent openings in Boston Back Bay, Austin Downtown, Menlo Park on the Meta campus, and several other North American cities.

citizenM Miami South Beach has been constructed adhering to elevated environmental standards, encompassing energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction, and is working towards securing LEED Gold certification. This initiative aligns with citizenM's broader environmental ethos—100 percent of citizenM hotels hold green building certifications or are on the path to achieving them.

“Miami is a vibrant city full of artistry and we are thrilled to be back, opening the doors to our third hotel in the city,” Chief Brand Officer Robin Chadha said in a statement. “Following our warm welcome for citizenM Miami Brickell and Miami Worldcenter, we are excited to grow citizenM’s footprint in the city and become part of the iconic South Beach neighborhood. As a cultural hotspot, the busy streets of South Beach are bursting with the best fine-dining experiences, prime shopping, bustling nightlife and public art. With our curated selection of artwork, rooftop pool, and prime location, citizenM Miami South Beach will offer mobile citizens a great base to experience this incredible city.”

The 168 rooms are smartly furnished with XL king-size beds with an extra comfy mattress and luxury bedding. A 4K widescreen TV has streaming options via free super-fast Wi-Fi. The room ambiance is fully controlled by an in-room iPad—the blinds, climate, the TV, even the lights with changeable colors—or via the citizenM app.

citizenM has commissioned eight original pieces of in-room art from LA-based visual artist Austin Call, Barbadian contemporary artist Akilha Watts, Florence-based artist and educator Robert Minervini, and aLILscribble LLC CEO and artist Alannah Tiller. To date, citizenM has worked with 150 artists to create more than 338 commissions for their complete hotel portfolio. The property will also feature artwork from the KRC Collection, citizenM founder Rattan Chadha’s private collection in the living room.
