Dream Hotel Group readies Chatwal Lodge for April opening

Dream Hotel Group is set to open the Chatwal Lodge on April 1. The Lodge is part of The Chapin Estate, a 2,500-acre gated residential community 90 miles north of New York City in the town of Bethel, N.Y. Inspired by the surrounding nature preserve, the 100-acre lodge will have 11 accommodations with Adirondack-style interiors and private patios overlooking the 1,000-acre Toronto Reservoir Lake.

“The debut of The Chatwal Lodge has been a vision of ours for a long time, and we are thrilled to launch our newest property this spring season,” said Sant Singh Chatwal, chairman, Dream Hotel Group. “Born as a rustic and refined country retreat to complement our award-winning New York City flagship, The Chatwal Lodge is a beautiful haven where luxury meets nature unlike anywhere else in the Catskills. We are proud to open The Chatwal Lodge and look forward to welcoming guests to experience this spectacular destination soon.”

“We are thrilled to launch the next evolution of the Chatwal brand; The Chatwal Lodge is our uber luxury wilderness lodge concept that allows our guests to experience the amazing wonders of mother nature in a truly unique setting,” said Dream Hotel Group CEO Jay Stein.

The 11 guest rooms and suites are crafted in a rustic, Catskills-inspired aesthetic, with vaulted ceilings, arched windows, reclaimed-wood walls, log-treaded stairs, hand-carved headboards, stone branchwork, faux fur and wool upholstery. Select accommodations will also have larger lakeside decks, outdoor showers and soaking tubs as well as and kitchens, dining and living areas. The company will add seven additional accommodations by 2023.

Public spaces at the hotel will include the farm-to-table restaurant Rustic Grill, a fitness center, a 4,400-square-feet activity center, two banquet spaces, smaller event rooms, a wine cellar and a private dining room.

Steve Dubrovsky, who created residences at The Chapin Estate, oversaw the property’s architecture and design.
