Urban Street Development has completed the Stadium Tower expansion at The Hotel Indigo Tallahassee – CollegeTown. A grand opening celebration for the Stadium Tower expansion is scheduled for May 21. The addition brings 94 new guestrooms, including six two-bedroom suites and 5,500-square-feet of retail to the existing 143-room hotel, increasing the total room count to 237. The Florida property is in CollegeTown, directly facing Doak Campbell Stadium and near the southern entrance to Florida State University.
The hotel is operated by Mooresville, N.C.-based Park Place Hospitality Group under the Hotel Indigo brand, which is part of IHG Hotels & Resorts. Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Urban Street Development partnered again with Ai3, the original architect, on the project.
“What has made this hotel successful from the beginning is that it delivers an experience that guests remember,” said Jeremy McCauley, president of Park Place Hospitality Group. “This expansion gives us the ability to build on that with more room options, added flexibility and a stronger overall offering for travelers visiting Tallahassee.”
“We’ve seen first-hand that demand to be near the CollegeTown district extends well beyond football season, from graduation and move-in weekends to family visits, university events and activity throughout the city. This expansion is a response to that momentum,” added Alan Hooper, co-founder of Urban Street Development.
In addition to expanded room inventory, the hotel has a mix of standard rooms and suites, on-site dining at R&R Eatery, flexible meeting space, a 24-hour fitness center and on-site parking. It also offers proximity to on-campus athletic venues, including baseball, softball and soccer facilities, as well as access to downtown Tallahassee and the Tallahassee International Airport.
