Lark Hotels opens 1970s-inspired Vermont lodge

Lark Hotels has opened the Bluebird Cady Hill Lodge in Stowe, Vt. As the latest addition to the portfolio of Bluebird by Lark properties, the 1970s-inspired rustic lodge is meant to be a basecamp for travelers looking to explore Vermont’s Green Mountains. The hotel will complement Lark’s two existing properties there: Tälta Lodge, a Bluebird by Lark; and Field Guide.

Designed by Elder & Ash, the mountain lodge takes cues from the surrounding area with birch plywood-paneled walls and deep green accents. Bluebird Cady Hill Lodge has 55 total accommodations including 53 guestrooms and two standalone homes—Tall Timbers and Horizon Cabin. Encompassing two bedrooms, a full kitchen, living room, wood-burning fireplace and a private deck, Tall Timbers evokes the 1970s with retro touches and can sleep up to five guests. Horizon has three bedrooms and two twin beds built into the eves of the second floor, a full kitchen, living room, gas fireplace and a private deck, sleeping up to eight guests. The lodge has local art and decor paired with Persian carpets and leather couches.

The property also has an on-site bar as well as the Great Room, outdoor and indoor pools, sauna, outdoor fire pits and a game room.

Since launching in 2021, Bluebird by Lark has opened properties across New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont. Most recently, Bluebird by Lark opened of Bluebird Ocean Point Inn in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, this month. Bluebird Cady Hill Lodge  is set to follow as the ninth hotel to debut within the Bluebird portfolio in just under three years.
