Lightstone Group opened the 286-room Moxy NYC East Village. The property, which Lightstone owns, developed and manages, marks the third of four Moxy Hotels the company plans on opening in the city.
Tao Group Hospitality oversees the hotels’ four food-and-beverage venues. Alphabet Bar & Café opened with the hotel and includes a bar, a terrace, a co-working lounge and meeting studios. The French-Mediterranean restaurant Cathédrale and the lounge Little Sister will follow later this month. The fourth venue, a rooftop bar, is slated to open in spring 2020.
The Moxy NYC East Village has forged several partnerships with local businesses and groups. Alphabet Bar & Café will provide books from the Strand Bookstore and vinyl LPs from Academy Records. The hotel will be the preferred hotel partner for Webster Hall, where it will provide select guests VIP concert access. Select students’ works from the art school Cooper Union will be displayed on a dedicated channel on guestroom televisions. Other East Village restaurants, shops, galleries and nearby businesses will be invited to host pop-ups in the lobby and other public spaces in the hotel.
