Lore Group rebrands NYC's Mondrian Park Avenue to Hotel Park Ave

International hospitality company Lore Group has acquired the former Mondrian Park Avenue hotel in New York City and rebranded it as the Hotel Park Ave. Situated on the corner of Park Avenue South and East 30th Street, Hotel Park Ave will mark Lore Group’s seventh hotel property alongside the Pulitzer Amsterdam, Sea Containers London and Riggs Washington, D.C.

“Expanding into New York City felt like the natural next step for Lore Group,” Lore Group CEO David Taylor said in a statement. “Much like London, New York City is a metropolitan hub of culture and creativity, as well as both business and leisure travelers, offering an exciting opportunity for us to bring a fresh perspective to the hospitality scene. We’re thrilled to be a new part of this city and look forward to contributing to the energy that makes New York City unlike anywhere else in the world.”

Hotel Park Ave is now open and is set to undergo a two-phased refurbishment beginning in 2025 with a refresh to all guestrooms in the first quarter. In spring, Lore Group Creative Director Jacu Strauss will unveil a new lobby and nine suites, including the Nomad Penthouse. All renovations will take place in stages with expected minimal disruption to guests. The hotel will remain open throughout.

The property has two private event spaces: a study and a 15th floor terrace. New dining concepts across the hotel’s rooftop terrace bar and ground-level restaurant will be announced in spring.

“We’re busy developing a new creative identity for Hotel Park Ave which will unveil in the Spring. As always, the design has been inspired by the building, its history and the NoMad neighborhood. Every touch point through the new suites will tell a story, with beautiful details creating emotional connections balanced by the requirements of operating and delivering modern luxury experiences,” Strauss said.

Alison Pecci is the debut GM of the newly renamed hotel. She has held roles at Made hotels, Royalton Park Avenue and Gansevoort Hotel Group.
