A former boutique hotel in St. Pete Beach, Fla., has been redeveloped as a new 200-room beachfront hotel, The Luce, and is slated to open this month.
The lifestyle hotel—which will be operating under Marriott International’s Tribute Portfolio brand—is owned by LCP and Safanad and managed by Fairfax, Va.-based Crescent Hotels & Resorts. Accommodations for the property—located near downtown St. Petersburg—include standard guestrooms, bungalow studio suites and lanai-style rooms with outdoor seating areas.
The opening will introduce two food-and-beverage concepts to the property. Sundrop—the hotel’s indoor-outdoor restaurant and bar—will offer brunch and dinner service alongside pool and beach service. A second venue, Baby Turtle Beach Club, is expected to open later in 2026 with a more casual beachside dining concept.
“The Luce is a place unlike anything St. Pete Beach has seen before,” Jeremy DaSilva, general manager of The Luce St. Pete Beach, said in a statement. “We’ve thoughtfully curated every touchpoint, from our beachfront butler service and poolside cabanas to the bold artistry of our lobby and the coastal flavors of Sundrop.”
Amenities at the property include direct beach access, a large outdoor pool, cabanas, fitness facilities, retail space and event venues totaling 14,000 square feet. Programming is expected to include yoga sessions, DJ events and nightly sunset gatherings.
Interior design at the property draws from regional influences, including Florida coastal architecture and the nearby Sunken Gardens attraction. The hotel also features a large-scale lobby mural by Filipino-American artist Marianne Angeli Rodriguez.
Meeting and event facilities include a 2,280-square-foot ballroom and multiple outdoor venues with capacity for up to 200 guests.
