Marriott opens Rome's second Autograph Collection hotel

Marriott International’s Autograph Collection has opened The Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel in the center of Italy’s capital city.

Milanese designer Marco Piva designed the new property next to the Pantheon. The hotel, which is also near Piazza Sant’Eustachio and Via di Santa Chiara, has 79 guestrooms and 20 suites.

“With its enviable location, individually-designed guestrooms and imaginative dining experiences, The Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel is a stunning addition to Autograph Collection Hotels,” John Licence, VP premium & select brands, Europe at Marriott International, said in a statement. “We know that this sophisticated sanctuary in the heart of ancient Rome will exceed our promise to deliver exactly like nothing else guest experiences.”

The Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel has joined the brand’s portfolio of more than 135 hotels. The property is Autograph Collection’s second in Rome, following the 238-room Palazzo Naiadi, The Dedica Anthology. This is also the brand’s fifth hotel in Italy, following the Sina Villa Medici in Florence, the Grand Hotel Dei Dogi, The Dedica Anthology in Venice and the Palazzo Matteotti, The Dedica Anthology in Milan.

The new addition expands Autograph Collection’s portfolio of 38 hotels across Europe. It follows the opening of the Paragraph Resort & Spa Shekvitili in Georgia in early April 2018. The 220-room hotel on the coast of the Black Sea is the first of three Autograph Collection properties slated to open in Georgia by 2020.

The Autograph Collection’s Alaia in San Pedro, Belize is also expected to open in 2020. The brand will open the hotel in partnership with owner and developer Andrew Ashcroft. Once construction is complete, Alaia will have 120 guestrooms with 56 condos and eight oceanfront villas.
