New Hilton prepares to open doors in Washington, D.C.

The Hilton Washington DC National Mall will welcome visitors to the nation’s capital beginning April 1, 2019. The hotel is the latest expansion of the brand in Washington and is the product of a multiyear modernization of an existing property at the top of historic L'Enfant Plaza. Located at the hub of public transit, the hotel adds 367 guestrooms, 23,000 square feet of meeting and private event space and several dining options.

The hotel is situated above the L’Enfant Plaza Metro station, granting guests direct access to metropolitan Washington, D.C. The hotel’s direct elevator access to the Metro connects guests to Ronald Reagan National Airport and Union Station, facilitating travel to the nearby Baltimore-Washington International Airport and Dulles International Airport.

“We are so excited to introduce guests to Hilton Washington DC National Mall, not just because of its contemporary design and amenities, but because of the doors it opens to experience D.C.,” said GM Claudia Eggspuhler. “Our unique location brings incomparable access to all D.C. has to offer. As a hotel, our goal is to help our guests create incredible memories by revealing the gems of Washington. We are hoping to convey what a world-class international destination our city is no matter what occasions bring travelers here.”

Design firm Architecture Inc. and interiors firm Studio HBA created the hotel’s sleek design to evoke a polished, yet personal decor.

The 5,406 square-foot ground-floor L’Enfant Ballroom, second-floor 4,240 square-foot Gallery Ballroom and 2,109 square-foot Solarium offer myriad opportunities to meet and celebrate, each appointed with state-of-the-art audiovisual capabilities. The poolside reception area will be complete with fire pits, cabanas and a bar.

The hotel’s culinary program will offer cuisine inspired by the Washington region at the French-inspired L’Enfant Bar & Grill led by Peter Laufer, director of food and beverage. The hotel also features a lobby bar, a full-service Starbucks and a grab-and-go marketplace.
