Soul Community Planet Hotels has opened the first property within its new SCP WildFree brand in Colorado Springs.
SCP WildFree Colorado Springs Hotel represents the latest addition to the Laguna Beach, Calif.-based company's portfolio, which also includes SCP Hotels and By SCP. Colorado Springs, Colo., was selected as the inaugural location due to its proximity to attractions including Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. According to SCP, the WildFree concept is designed around the traditional roadside motel format and targets travelers seeking outdoor-focused experiences.
“Colorado's culture and landscape has always embodied the free-spirited energy at the heart of SCP WildFree,” Ken Cruse, founder and CEO of SCP Hotels, said in a statement. “Colorado Springs is a natural home for our first WildFree property. It's a place where the classic road trip motel gets a modern update for travelers who want to explore with purpose and commune with like-minded wayfarers.”
The property includes an outdoor pool, a 5,000-square-foot fitness and yoga center, coworking space, a market serving grab-and-go food and beverages and pet-friendly accommodations. SCP said the hotel incorporates energy-efficient and low-waste operating practices.
The property participates in SCP's Every Stay Does Good program, which supports community and environmental initiatives. SCP Hotels—launched seven years ago—said the introduction of distinct brand segments is intended to support future growth across multiple lodging categories.
