A number of hotels are set to open in 2023 across the United States and beyond:
Bluebird Lake Placid, January 2023
Lark Hotels is adding the Bluebird Lake Placid (N.Y.) to its growing Bluebird by Lark portfolio, a collection of redesigned, contemporary hotels, motels and ski lodges. Slated to open its first phase on Jan. 11, Bluebird is conducting extensive renovations of the downtown property to open Bluebird Lake Placid throughout 2023. Bluebird has opened three properties in the past year.
Bluebird Lake Placid will have be a lakeside retreat with 90 rooms. With interiors designed by Elder & Ash, Bluebird Lake Placid will echo the secluded ambiance of the surrounding mountains and Lake Placid’s history as a longtime vacation destination. The design of the hotel will stray from the classic Adirondack-style of the region, instead taking cues from Scandinavian and Japanese alpine influences that focus on natural materials, muted colors, clean lines and curated furnishings inspired by year-round alpine activities.
Eastwind Oliverea Valley, January 2023
Eastwind Hotels is set to open the Eastwind Oliverea Valley in January, bringing its Scandinavian-inspired accommodations to New York's Catskills region. Eastwind Oliverea Valley has an on-site restaurant and bar, pool and a new room category.
The third property from founders Bjorn Boyer, Julija Stoliarova and Dan Cipriani is the brand’s first ground-up build. It will have designer-curated midcentury vintage furnishings across its 30 rooms, all of which will have different layouts and decor curated by Stoliarova.
The all-weather, wood A-frame freestanding cabins will be available in four types, all outfitted with queen beds: Lushna cabins, Lushna cabins with decks, Lushna suites and double Lushnas, a new category catering to more varied guest needs. Some rooms will have vintage desks, rain showers, seating nooks, private patios and refrigerators. The accommodations are meant to highlight the natural surroundings with the use of earth tones, organic materials and vintage decor.
Holman Riverfront Park Hotel, January 2023
Coast Hospitality Management plans to open a new hotel in Salem, Ore., in January. The Holman Riverfront Park Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton celebrates modern Salem, with design and construction of the Holman building inspired by the pioneers, vintners, artists, business and government leaders of the area. The Holman is adjacent to the Salem Convention Center and less than a mile from the State Capitol.
LMC Construction serves as the contractor for the project. Upon completion, the new hotel, managed by Coast Hospitality Management, will have 127 guestrooms, including apartment-style suites with full kitchenettes.
Six Senses Crans-Montana, February 2023
Opening Feb. 1, 2023, the Six Senses Crans-Montana will offer ski-in, ski-out access from its position just above the main gondola in Crans, Switzerland. The 45 Terrace rooms and one- and three-bedroom suites have a Swiss chalet feel and are surrounded on three sides by nature and pine forest. The design team used natural materials such as quartzite stone, local larch, oak and slate for a warm and relaxed vibe.
With nine treatment rooms, a stretch pod, fitness facilities and a yoga studio, the 6,500-square-foot Six Senses Spa wet facilities include a large indoor pool leading to the outside, a second rooftop swimming pool, steam, a hammam, a hot tub and a cold plunge pool. The Biohack Recovery Lounge offers fast fixes that use smart tech to optimize the body’s natural healing processes.
Cayo Levantado Resort, June 2023
Cayo Levantado Resort, a brand-new resort under the Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts portfolio, will open to guests on June 1. Located on the Dominican Republic island of Cayo Levantado, just a few miles away from Samaná Bay, the rebranded property is undergoing an extensive renovation.
The resort will have more than 200 rooms in several different categories. Public spaces will include two swimming pools, two spas, an outdoor CrossFit area, a beach club, a personal training studio, a beauty salon, a botanic garden and an exclusive area focused on wellness. All-inclusive dining options will include three à la carte restaurants, one buffet restaurant, four bars and a coffee shop. Two additional specialty restaurants will be available outside the all-inclusive offerings.
Warren Street Hotel, September 2023
Tim and Kit Kemp, founders of Firmdale Hotels, plan to open the Warren Street Hotel in New York City's Tribeca neighborhood in September 2023. The partners previously opened the Crosby Street Hotel in downtown SoHo and The Whitby Hotel in Midtown Manhattan.
The site was previously a parking lot and the hotel is being built from the ground up. The hotel will feature contemporary art and design with interiors by Kit Kemp Design Studio across 57 individually designed guestrooms and suites along with 12 exclusive residences over 11 floors. Each room will have with floor-to-ceiling windows and some will have a private terrace.
The Lower Manhattan hotel is close to the Financial District, Soho, Little Italy and Chinatown.
